  CREATIVE MOVEMENT

Ideal for children aged 3, Creative Movement introduces the basic elements of dance through simple repetitive instructions, role-playing, fun games, and rhythm exercises. This program is designed to help develop fundamental skills that will stay with your child for a lifetime. Students learn to work in a structured and musical environment where co-operation, participation, and social interaction are encouraged, and skills such as listening, co-ordination, concentration, and the ability to take direction are nurtured.

BALLET

In this classical form of dance, emphasis is placed on rhythm, musicality, balance and proper body alignment. The classroom structure includes barre work, stretching, centre floor exercises, across-the-floor work, and intricate combinations; students are instructed using classical ballet terminology. Ballet is the cornerstone of dancing and its fundamentals can be found in all other forms of dance. Ballet promotes self-confidence, focus, poise, and self-discipline.  Pointe classes are carried out in hard-toed shoes and follow the same structure as ballet classes. Students may advance to pointe work only on the recommendation of her ballet teacher.

JAZZ

A technical dance class requiring agility, stamina and strength, Classical Jazz is a high-energy form of dance performed to contemporary music. Classes begin with a guided warm-up and stretch, which target muscle endurance and flexibility. Exercises across-the-floor and at centre floor follow, and concentrate on correct body alignment, showmanship, and precise technique. Short combinations are taught and built upon week-to-week, which exercise the students' proficiency at recall and execution.

HIP HOP

Hip Hop is a fast-paced, high-energy form of dance that is most widely recognized from mainstream media of today. Previous dance training is not required (though it can be beneficial) as emphasis is less on formal technique and more on personal style. Classes will start with a warm-up designed to get the blood pumping and the muscles working intensely, then students will move on to learning and perfecting difficult choreography.
